Ahmad Hujeirat (LSW):

"Powerful jets from around black holes on all mass scales"

Abstract. Extremely powerful jets have been observed to emanate from around black holes on all mass scales. In this talk I will discuss a scenario that unveils: 1) The nature of the Black hole-Jet-Disk interaction. 2) The mechanisms underlying the formation and acceleration of jets in the vicinity of the event horizon. 3) Why the contents of the powerful jets most likely are electron-proton rather than electron-positron plasmas. In addition, I will briefly describe the first Heidelberger multi-dimensional, multi-purpose, implicit general relativistic and Newtonian MHD solver, that is designed to model dissipative multi-temperature plasmas in astrophysics.
