Andreas Ernst:

"Star clusters and the Roche volume"

Abstract. Star clusters are usually embedded in the tidal field of a galaxy. In a realistic simulation, their formation and evolution should be calculated in the framework of a restricted three-body problem. For star clusters on circular orbits the theory is well-known and can be described on the blackboard. The talk proposes and aims at a discussion about a possible application in SPH or Hydro solvers.
