Rowan Smith:

"Understanding the dynamics of star formation"

Abstract. Star formation regions are complex regions where both turbulence and self-gravity cause molecular clouds to collapse into dense filaments and cores. In this talk I will show how such complex motions are translated into observed line profiles, and look at how we can use simulations to help us gain a deeper understanding of the observed dynamics of star formation.
