coincidence? I don't think so!
27 Aug 2025The Einstein-Hilbert-action \(S = \int\mathrm{d}^4x\:\sqrt{-\mathrm{det}g}\:\left(R - 2\Lambda\right)\) has the curious property that both terms \(R\) and \(\Lambda\) for a FLRW-universe today have the same value. In fact, the Ricci-scalar is given by \(R = a (H/c)^2(1-q)\) and is of order of the squared inverse Hubble length, \(c/H_0\), very close to the numerical value of \(\Lambda\). What’s your thought about this?
