My Research

I am working on a subgrid model for outflows and jets on sink particles.

Technique

The simulations are based on FLASH2.5 and use Fortran as the program language and MPI for parallelisation.

Analysis

We are heading to analyse the interaction of outflows with the interstellar medium.

Prospect

These affects might drive turbulence which acts as a feedback to the star formation processes going on.

Outcome

This research might explain the enormous difference between predicted star formation rates by theory and observed star formation processes, which is an unsolved problem in astrophysics.
