"Christmas Special Colloquium: The "Science" of Politics or the "Politics" of Science?"
Abstract. I will discuss similarities and differences between the two subjects "Science" and "Politics". What can Scientists learn from Politics? What can Politics learn from Scientists? I will argue that political processes play a non-negligible role, and should not be ignored, in a common scientific life, i.e., when promoting our own scientific work. What is the Politics behind Science? Most of the results that I will present are derived by the relatively new discipline of "social physics". I will try to connect the new knowledge on this field with my own experience in Politics to a Physicist's daily work.
