Research interests
My work focuses on theoretical and numerical models of star formation in turbulent molecular clouds. The formation of stars is affected by numerous physical processes, e.g. by magnetic fields, turbulence, the chemistry or the radiative transfer. In numerical simulations, we try to find out more about about the formation of stars. Therefore, we compare our theoretical results with real observational data to get a deeper insight into the process of star formation in order to finally get to a self-consistent theory of star formation in our universe.

Eingekreist sind überdichte Gebiete, aus denen einmal Sterne entstehen könnten (erschienen in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, Bertram et al., 2011).
