Information about ITA

The Institute

The Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics of the University of Heidelberg (ITA) originated in 1976 from the two already existing sections for theoretical astrophysics. Since a few years it has joined the Zentrum für Astronomie (Center for Astronomy, ZAH). It contains several research groups that attend to a broad spectrum of topics from many areas of astrophysics.

A part of ITA is located in a mansion close to Philosophenweg.
